Empowering rural women through skill, education, self-reliance and community — transforming lives from the ground up.
At Aasmita Association, we believe that when you empower a woman, you uplift an entire family and community. Our Women Empowerment Programme takes a holistic, community-rooted approach — addressing the interconnected barriers of skill gaps, financial exclusion, health inequities and social isolation that rural women face.
We work directly with women in villages and urban slums across Chhattisgarh, meeting them where they are — in their homes, community centres and local self-help groups — and co-creating solutions that are sustainable, respectful and genuinely transformative.

Years of Women's Programmes
Professional tailoring courses from basic stitching to boutique-quality garment making, enabling women to work from home or open their own shops.
Practical computer literacy, MS Office, internet skills and digital communication — essential tools for employment and self-employment in the modern economy.
Traditional and contemporary handicraft training — jewellery making, embroidery, pottery, bamboo craft and more — connected with fair market access.
Smartphone skills, UPI payments, e-commerce, social media for business and online safety — empowering women to participate fully in the digital economy.
Banking, savings, micro-credit, insurance and budget management training to build women's financial confidence and security.
Business planning, marketing, pricing and customer management training to help women transform their skills into thriving micro-enterprises.
Job placement assistance, resume building and connections to local employers for trained women seeking formal employment opportunities.
Regular health camps, menstrual hygiene awareness, nutrition guidance and mental health support for women and their families.
Self Help Groups (SHGs) are at the heart of our community strategy. By bringing women together in small, trust-based groups of 10–20 members, we create powerful networks of mutual support, shared savings and collective voice.
Through SHGs, women build disciplined savings habits, access micro-credit for livelihood investments, share knowledge and support each other through life's challenges. The group structure also provides a safe, supportive space to discuss health, rights and family wellbeing.

"Before joining Aasmita's skill centre, I depended entirely on my husband's income. Today I run a boutique from my home and earn enough to pay for my children's education. This programme gave me confidence I did not know I had."
Rekha Verma
SHG Leader, Durg District
"Our self-help group has 18 members and we have saved over ₹2 lakhs together. Three of our members have started their own small businesses. Aasmita taught us not just skills but how to think like entrepreneurs."
Meena Chandrakar
